Garage Door Technician Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Residential Garage Door Technician. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for someone with no prior experience in the garage door industry to kickstart their career and gain valuable skills in a fast-growing field. As a Technician, you will work closely with experienced professionals to learn the ins and outs of installing, repairing, and maintaining residential garage doors. Your eagerness to learn and commitment to delivering exceptional service will be vital in ensuring our customers receive top-notch garage door solutions.

Compensation:

$35,000 - $40,000 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Assist experienced technicians with the installation, repair, and maintenance of residential garage doors and related components.
  • Learn to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Participate in on-the-job training sessions to acquire knowledge of various garage door systems and industry best practices.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure work environment for both yourself and team members.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote efficiency and professionalism.
  • Communicate with customers in a polite and respectful manner, representing the company's commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Learn to diagnose issues with garage doors and provide appropriate solutions to customers.
  • Develop a strong understanding of different garage door materials, hardware, and mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and to the highest quality standards.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements to stay current with emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
  • No prior experience in the garage door industry is required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn from experienced technicians.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and technical skills are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stand, and perform manual labor as needed.
  • Dependable and punctual with a commitment to reliability and attendance.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
