The State of New York is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Deputy Director of Licensing in the Office of Cannabis Management. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of the cannabis industry and regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement licensing programs and processes.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to applicants and stakeholders on licensing requirements and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including state agencies, industry partners, and community organizations.
  • Develop and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of licensing operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in licensing regulations and industry trends, and provide recommendations for updates to licensing policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a related field, including 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the cannabis industry and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
