We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Nurse to join our clinical team at Great Lakes Bay. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and leading our clinical team to achieve outstanding patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Patient Care
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical conditions and develop effective treatment plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families on chronic conditions, disease management, and prevention.
- Communicate critical and abnormal test results to patients and their families.
- Manage patient medications, including Coumadin, and perform INR testing as needed.
- Perform diagnostic tests and procedures, such as IV therapy, venipuncture, and EKGs, as needed.
- Patient Chart and Documentation
- Accurately document patient information and vital signs in the electronic health record.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions.
- Nursing and Clinic Team
- Assess and identify high-risk patients for referral to care management nurses and other team members.
- Facilitate patient care activities and coordinate the flow of patients in the clinical setting.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Assist in the training and supervision of new nursing staff, nursing students, and other medical service-related personnel.
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Registered Nurse with current licensure to practice in the State of Michigan.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Minimum of two years' experience in acute medical/surgical nursing with evidence of excellent clinical, leadership, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
