Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the intensive care unit. This role requires a strong foundation in respiratory care, with a focus on ventilator management, critical care, and patient assessment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and assess the function of oxygen and therapeutic gas delivery systems.
  • Set up and monitor ventilators, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.
  • Provide aerosolized medication and perform diagnostic procedures, including ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, and nitric oxide pulmonary hypertension studies.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare teams to develop and improve inter- and intradepartmental services.
  • Perform CPR and respond to critical areas, such as the ER and OR.
  • Assist with bronchoscopy procedures, minor cardiopulmonary invasive or surgical procedures, and tracheotomy care.
  • Interpret complex lab data and provide input on patient care decisions.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Registered with the N.B.R.C and licensed in the state of Missouri.
  • 1 year of experience preferred, but new graduates welcome.

The Respiratory Therapist will work in a fast-paced intensive care unit environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
