Job Title: Junior Mechanical Engineer for Plant Operations
POSITION SUMMARY: This role involves the coordination of mechanical and utility design and construction for facilities dedicated to the production of pet food and treats. The position demands technical proficiency in project scope development and oversight of design consultants and contractors to ensure adherence to established standards and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of mechanical utility systems, technology, equipment, and the generation and review of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) in the field.
- Collaborate with the corporate engineering team to grasp project team structures, scopes, design elements, and coordination reviews.
- Provide Mechanical Engineering oversight and management of on-site mechanical and utility construction for capital projects.
- Supervise field observations and the commissioning of equipment and utilities by third-party services during construction to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.
- Review and authorize contractor methodologies for construction in operational facilities.
- Assess and evaluate feasibility and cost estimates provided by contractors for both existing and new facility sites and structures.
- This position requires a physical presence at the facility for the duration of the project, with occasional travel for training and design coordination.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
+ 2-3 years of experience in construction, plant engineering, facilities management, or building construction.
+ Familiarity with mechanical utility systems.
+ Proficiency in instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
+ Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
+ Understanding of CAPEX.
