Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals as directed by the Food Service Coordinator.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the food service area.
  • Follow instructions to produce and serve meals that meet nutritional guidelines.
  • Interpret menus to guarantee compliance with nutrition standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in preparing large quantities of food independently.
  • Maintain necessary documentation as required by the Food Service Coordinator.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of the food service area and storeroom.
  • Utilize food supplies efficiently.
  • Notify the Food Service Coordinator of any equipment repair needs.
  • Keep the Food Service Coordinator updated on relevant matters.
  • Serve food in appropriate quantities.
  • Execute safe food preparation and handling practices.
  • Participate in cost-effective measures while maintaining quality.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of equipment operation and food service techniques.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Duties
  • Assist in the transition of children between activities and locations.
  • Engage in meetings, training, and conferences as required.
  • Support on-site community meetings and promote positive group dynamics.
  • Provide coverage for team members as necessary.
  • Monitor security and operate surveillance systems.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in institutional food services.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and lead others in diverse environments.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Proficient in resolving unexpected issues with minimal supervision.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer use and MS Office applications.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Clear criminal background and child protective services check.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Compliance with immunization requirements.
  • Capacity to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to perform emergency behavioral interventions as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to navigate stairs.
