At United Rentals, we're committed to providing our customers with the best equipment and service in the industry. As a Shop Foreman, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our equipment is properly maintained and repaired, and that our customers receive exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate the activities of Service Technicians to ensure efficient and effective maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Train and supervise mechanical personnel as needed to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties.
- Responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment, including diagnosing and supervising the repair of equipment to ensure work is performed efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and complete paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) on a daily basis.
- Travel to customer job sites as required to repair/maintain rental or customer-owned equipment, and maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
- High School Diploma required; trade-school degree a plus.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
- Must own tools applicable to the position.
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills for a variety of systems.
- Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
