Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to video playback, buffering, latency, and network connectivity.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Monitor and maintain video and network equipment, ensuring proper functioning of hardware and software components.
  • Technology Integration: Implement new video delivery technologies, including integrating new codecs, streaming protocols, or content delivery networks.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and recommendations to support other teams with video and network related matters.
  • Infrastructure Design: Design the architecture of the video services infrastructure, selecting and configuring hardware, software, and network components to meet specific performance, scalability, and cost requirements.
  • Capacity Planning: Plan for future growth and capacity needs, analyzing and forecasting future video usage patterns and ensuring the infrastructure can accommodate them.
  • Performance Evaluation: Evaluate the performance and efficiency of existing infrastructure, conducting tests and analyses to identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization.
  • Industry Trends: Stay up to date on industry trends and technology, supporting the customer by evaluating new technologies that could benefit the Leidos service and team.
Requirements
  • Wireless Networking: Proficiency in wireless networking and multicast protocols is crucial for efficient video distribution.
  • Network Security: Knowledge of network access control (NAC) is beneficial for securing video delivery systems.
  • Network Fundamentals: Comprehensive understanding of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and firewall configurations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Video Content Delivery: Knowledge of digital video content delivery methods, architecture, and technology.
  • Structured Cabling: Knowledge of structured cabling systems, using both copper and fiber infrastructure.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills for effective interaction with customers and co-workers.
