Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality respiratory care services to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. This includes preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services under the guidance of a physician. The ideal candidate will strive for excellence by consistently delivering exceptional patient care and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve superior outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with respiratory conditions.
  • Perform various procedures, including resuscitation, ECGs, and arterial blood gas analysis.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, such as ventilators and gas administration apparatus.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy and consult with physicians as needed.
  • Provide education and training to patients and their families on disease management techniques.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapist educational program.
  • Successful completion of the national credentialing exam by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification, with ACLS preferred.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to assess patient condition and prioritize care.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology and respiratory care principles.
