The Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality respiratory care services to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. This includes preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services under the guidance of a physician. The ideal candidate will strive for excellence by consistently delivering exceptional patient care and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve superior outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with respiratory conditions.
- Perform various procedures, including resuscitation, ECGs, and arterial blood gas analysis.
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, such as ventilators and gas administration apparatus.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy and consult with physicians as needed.
- Provide education and training to patients and their families on disease management techniques.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapist educational program.
- Successful completion of the national credentialing exam by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider certification, with ACLS preferred.
- Ability to assess patient condition and prioritize care.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology and respiratory care principles.
