Commercial Lines Underwriting Specialist

The Commercial Lines Underwriting Specialist role at SIR Services NY Inc. offers an exciting opportunity to work with a leading specialty niche market for apartment buildings and commercial properties in New York.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 per year (dependent on experience)

As a Commercial Lines Underwriting Specialist, you will be responsible for managing account pipelines, selecting and qualifying risks, and pricing insurance policies within program guidelines and objectives. You will also sell proposals to insurance brokers, communicate directly with brokers and carriers, and ensure accurate underwriting information.

• Handle new business and renewal accounts through outbound interaction with various carriers and brokers.
• Collaborate with internal sales staff to develop new business submissions.
• Underwrite habitational risks by analyzing risk exposures, loss frequency, and severity against desired coverage.
• Develop strong relationships with external and internal customers, delivering exceptional customer experiences with every interaction.
• Provide solutions for inquiries from brokers and team members, adhering to rating rules and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve underwriting efficiencies and profitability.
• Work independently with deadlines while coordinating efforts with stakeholders.
