Position Overview
The Lease Accounting Analyst plays a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of occupancy costs across the organization. This position is essential for ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monthly Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough monthly analyses and reporting of occupancy expenses, including:
    • Maintaining leasing schedules in accordance with GAAP, covering lease liabilities and right-of-use assets.
    • Generating month-end and quarter-end accruals through comprehensive account analysis.
    • Preparing monthly reconciliations for the balance sheet.
    • Creating monthly budget versus actual reports with variance analysis for management review.
    • Assisting in the monthly forecasting process to provide current financial projections.
    • Delivering recurring monthly reports alongside ad hoc analyses as required.
  • Annual Budget Preparation: Lead the preparation of the annual occupancy budget by:
    • Collaborating with the budgeting team and other stakeholders to validate budget assumptions and metrics.
    • Developing and maintaining budget templates, adapting them based on trends and business requirements.
  • Audit Coordination: Prepare schedules for quarterly and annual audits, acting as the primary liaison with both internal and external auditors regarding responsibilities.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance within designated areas.
  • Process Improvement: Assess and recommend enhancements to existing processes.
  • Operational Support: Provide support for the daily functions of the Lease Accounting department.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within the commercial real estate sector or a related field is advantageous.
