Job Summary

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. This includes operating CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient orders and refer to Radiologists when necessary.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and documenting relevant information.
  • Conduct thorough medical histories and review patient records to ensure accurate information.
  • Administer IV contrast and record relevant details.
  • Evaluate image quality and consult with Radiologists as needed.
  • Perform basic patient care functions and initiate life support measures when necessary.
  • Assist Radiologists and other medical personnel during invasive procedures.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and maintain knowledge of radiation safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine, and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire.
  • Current CPR certification.
Work Environment

The CT Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, rotating shifts and being required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. The role may involve exposure to ionizing radiation and requires adherence to radiation safety guidelines.
