Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist I/II

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Cardiology and Respiratory Services, the Registered Respiratory Therapist I/II provides respiratory care services to inpatients and outpatients as directed by the medical staff at Central Vermont Medical Center. This role requires a strong foundation in respiratory therapy principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides respiratory care services to patients with a variety of respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and pneumonia.
  • Works collaboratively with the medical staff, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participates in quality management activities, including data collection and analysis, to improve patient outcomes and optimize respiratory care services.
  • Assumes leadership responsibilities as needed, including mentoring and supervising respiratory therapy students and staff.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an associate degree program in respiratory therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the state of Vermont.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 6 months of hire.
