Job Summary:

Village SurgiCenter is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a PACU Recovery Nurse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support in our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the provision of nursing care to patients in a same-day surgery setting, ensuring a safe and comfortable recovery environment.
  • Assume total responsibility for patient care in accordance with physician's orders and center policies.
  • Monitor and control the use of and charging for supplies utilized in the center.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to facility policies.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, promoting a positive and empowering experience.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as radiology and home care, to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Perform routine charging of medications and supplies, accurately checking charge sheets for used supplies.
  • Function independently in emergency situations, making logical and sound decisions to ensure patient safety.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain competence and stay up-to-date with best practices.
  • Assist in the orientation of new employees, providing factual information and support to ensure a smooth transition.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse License.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
  • 1 year of experience in a same-day surgery or PACU setting.
  • Associates or better degree in nursing.
