Job Description: Equipment Maintenance Specialist - Recycling Yard

This role involves maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of our recycling facility by removing nonferrous and non-metallic materials from conveyor belts, cleaning the yard, and ensuring safe operations.

  • Remove trash, wood, paper, or plastics from conveyor belts and place them into designated chutes or bins.
  • Clean the recycling yard by sweeping, raking, and picking up debris, or moving barrels and bins.
  • Deposit recoverable materials into chutes or place them on conveyor belts for further processing.
  • Perform general cleaning and sweeping operations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Carry out other assigned tasks as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic math skills to handle material counts and manage tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to lift and handle up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Strong physical and mental capability to perform all job functions in various environmental conditions.
Work Environment

This position involves both indoor and outdoor tasks in a recycling yard environment. You will be required to clean and remove materials both inside the facility and outdoors, with possible exposure to varying weather conditions.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED-equivalent required.
  • No prior experience necessary; any labor-intensive experience is beneficial.
