About the Role

The Department of Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Criminal Investigator to serve as a Rotational Training Coordinator. This is a unique opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs for law enforcement personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training Program Development: Plan, coordinate, and execute training exercises, including firearms qualifications, defensive tactics, and in-service training.
  • Training Analysis: Analyze training programs and projects to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Course Material Development: Participate in the development of law enforcement program/course materials, including identifying and recommending solutions to accomplish organizational effectiveness.
  • Criminal Investigations: Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and prepare fact-based written summaries in fraud and/or safety cases.
  • Case Management: Review allegations, assess DOT nexus and impact, and make recommendations to management regarding whether the allegation warrants investigative action.
  • Testimony: Provide testimony as required.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: One year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, including experience instructing basic and advanced law enforcement training classes, planning, coordinating, and executing training exercises, analyzing training programs and projects, and participating in the development of law enforcement program/course materials.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Age: Must not turn 37 years of age before 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
