Job Summary

Area Wide Protective (AWP) is seeking a skilled Traffic Control Flagger to join our team. As a Traffic Control Flagger, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe movement of traffic in highway construction projects. This is a physically demanding role that requires manual labor, equipment operation, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform manual labor tasks in highway construction projects, including equipment preparation and maintenance
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles
  • Maintain a clean job site, including tool and equipment storage and disposal
  • Support daily vehicle maintenance, including fluid checks and tire pressure
  • Load and unload trucks, and follow proper towing procedures
  • Deliver materials to job sites
  • Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
  • Stand for extended periods of time and wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues

Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy/highway construction
  • Knowledge of first aid and safety precautions
  • Ability to read and comprehend work orders and plans
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry +50lbs
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Clean insurable abstract
  • Ability to acquire and maintain DOT physical
  • Able to pass drug testing and federal background check
  • Basic literacy and ability to read, write, and record routine data
