Compensation: Starting at $15.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Your Role:

The Dishwasher/Utility Aide is essential to the kitchen's operations, ensuring the smooth delivery of meals to residents. Your meticulous attention to cleaning and maintaining kitchen tools and equipment is vital for upholding hygiene and food safety standards. Without your efforts, the kitchen's efficiency would be jeopardized, potentially delaying residents' access to essential nourishment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage the following tasks:
  • Monitor and empty box bins as necessary.
  • Prepare and clear the pot washing area (3-compartment sink).
  • Inspect and clear the tray-belt as needed.
  • Check and replenish the dish machine.
  • Verify and document wash/rinse temperatures.
  • Thoroughly wash all soiled items.
  • Ensure all washable equipment is air-dried on racks, free of water. Adhere to hygiene protocols when transitioning between clean and dirty items.
  • Sort and organize clean equipment, transporting it to designated storage areas.
  • Sanitize garbage can lids through the dish machine.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the stainless-steel areas, tray line, and tray belt.
  • Wash and re-rack floor mats appropriately.
  • Run dish machine filters through the machine.
  • Shut down and clean the dish machine, including jets and screens, using hot water.
  • Dispose of trash and cardboard in the dumpster.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

This role requires mobility to stand and walk extensively throughout the shift. Ability to lift and carry trays, boxes, pans, and dishes weighing up to 25 lbs. Push or pull food hot boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. Bend and stoop to access carts, food, trays, and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity is necessary for operating kitchen utensils and machinery. Visual acuity is required for reading menus, labels, and instructions. Hearing is essential for responding to verbal communications. Taste and smell are needed to evaluate food quality and adherence to dietary standards. Exposure to varying temperatures is part of the job.

Meeting these physical and sensory requirements is crucial for the effective contribution of the Utility/Dishwasher Aide to a well-organized and safe kitchen environment.

Qualifications:

  • ServSafe Certification and State Food Handlers Card (training provided)
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older, subject to state regulations.
