Job Summary:

An Assembly Specialist working with the engineering departments, and other various departments as needed, assembling and training on new products using new and/or existing tooling and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with common production equipment as necessary to maintain workflow and consistent output. This may include wire cutting, stripping, tinning, crimping, soldering, testing fixtures, potting, printing, scales, label printers, stamping, and packaging equipment.
  • Perform ongoing self-executed audits of all products and processes with attention to detail and quality.
  • Coordinate training and train manufacturing floor on new products with new tooling and processes as needed.
  • Work using Manufacturing routers, work orders, drawings, bills of material, and special instructions in written, verbal, and computerized form.
  • Work with common devices such as multi-meters, micrometers, rulers, cable scanners, computer test equipment, and others as required.
  • Perform various miscellaneous duties as required including but not limited to routine machine maintenance, daily upkeep, cleaning of workstations and surrounding areas.
  • Follow safety rules and keep work areas clean and orderly.
  • Show strong proficiency in performing daily tasks and work requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and be able to share experience and techniques with other team members. Show personal initiative and drive to learn new things.
  • Operate sophisticated production equipment that may be necessary to maintain a consistent workflow. Some of these may include automated and semi-automated wire processing machines, pad printing equipment, specialized potting equipment, marking laser and hot stamping machines.
  • Work with other departments, as needed, to ensure all required materials are available for team members to assemble. Other departments may include planners, stock room, finished goods, technicians, and engineers.
  • Release daily orders for processing within their respective group. Ensure internal department priorities are aligned and follow up with appropriate individual should issues arise.
  • Communicate any continuous improvement suggestions to engineering and/or leadership for consideration.
  • Follow safety rules and keep work areas in a clean and orderly condition through practicing the 5's.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent in skills, basic reading and math skills, along with soldering experience.
  • The job requires six months experience, being cross-trained on all steps of the production process, familiarity with parts, part numbers, and company procedures.
  • Must also be able to work with computerized programs such as: ERP system, Turck Connect, Turck Tools, Outlook and Fourth Shift.
