Educational Specialist for High School Students with Special Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Educational Specialist to join our team at Hmong College Prep Academy.
Job OverviewHmong College Prep Academy is a high-quality school that stands out in many ways, including its low teacher-student ratio of 20:1, strong technology focus, and robust professional development program for teachers. We are recognized by the Minnesota Department of Education as a Celebration School and offer a range of academic and extracurricular activities, such as Mock Trial, Band, Choir, Soccer, and Volleyball.
ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will have experience working with students with special needs, particularly those with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders, and developmental cognitive disorders. Key responsibilities include creating a flexible classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth, instructing high school special education students from grades 9-12, and developing skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a solid foundation for further education.
Requirements- A Master's degree in special education or a related field, and a current MN teaching license in one or more areas, such as Learning Disabilities Grades K-12, Autism Spectrum Disorders Grades K-12, Emotional Behavioral Disorders Grades K-12, or Developmental Cognitive Disorder Grades K-12.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience working with students with various disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet individual student needs.
- Knowledge and experience with due process procedures, and strong skills in classroom presentation and management.
- Ability to utilize computer and multimedia technology as appropriate, and knowledge of instructional technologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with students, parents, district staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
