Position Overview:

Blackburn, Childers & Steagall, PLC is in search of a dedicated Tax Manager to join our esteemed firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the Tax team to enhance their performance and commitment.
  • Oversee and evaluate tax projects and engagements.
  • Take full charge of directing significant projects and specialized tasks.
  • Manage the delegation of responsibilities and the training of junior accountants and staff involved in engagements.
  • Ensure effective control measures are in place for all facets of the Tax process.
  • Exhibit a high degree of technical expertise.
  • Understand business implications related to intricate transactions.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with clients to improve their comprehension of business and tax matters.
  • Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes in tax law, and inform the tax team of relevant impacts.
  • Review and respond to communications from the IRS and Department of Revenue concerning audits and notifications.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing firm software tools efficiently.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting is mandatory; a Master's degree in accounting is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations, along with knowledge of payroll tax, sales tax, and general bookkeeping.
  • A current CPA license is essential.
