Dominican Hospital, a member of Dignity Health, is a 222-bed facility providing comprehensive care to residents of California's Central Coast.

With 24/7 emergency care, we offer a wide range of services, including cardiac, orthopedics, oncology, women's and children's services, and continue to lead the region in medical innovation and excellence in healthcare.

Our Services

We provide emergency services and are a Certified Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center.

Our services include the only comprehensive Cancer Center in Santa Cruz County, a Total Joint Replacement program, and advanced neurological and endoscopic services.

We regularly receive 'A' grades for hospital safety from Leapfrog Group and have received national recognition for superior patient safety, cardiac care, and stroke treatment from Healthgrades.

Cardiac Care

We are Santa Cruz County's heart attack (STEMI) receiving center, providing cutting-edge cardiac care.

Our heart attack treatment times consistently beat the national average, and we offer two cardiac catheterization labs available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We offer groundbreaking cardiac procedures, including the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure, which allows for heart valve replacement without opening a patient's chest.

Partnerships

We have forged significant partnerships with area hospitals to bring exceptional care to Santa Cruz County.

We offer a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford.

Neurosurgery at Dominican is also offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.

In The Community

Beyond care inside the hospital, we are dedicated to the health and wellness of the Santa Cruz community.

We offer community programs, including a Mobile Wellness Clinic, a tattoo removal program, and support groups for patients and new mothers.

We support programs for the underserved in our community, including children and adults, students, seniors, and the homeless population.

We have received several awards for environmental excellence.

Responsibilities

The Telemetry Definitive Observation RN is responsible for supporting efforts to improve clinical and service excellence of patient care provided.

RNs must be able to identify and apply care skills appropriate to the specific patient age groups served.

The RN will participate in the achievement of service targets and process goals.

RNs will render professional nursing care to patients, support medical care as directed by physicians.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of DIGNITY HEALTH/Dominican Hospital.

It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Six months of recent hospital, clinic or similar nursing experience.
  • ASN or Nursing Diploma, required.
  • Current and active CA RN license.
  • Current BLS certification, required.
  • Current ACLS certification, required.
  • Current NIHSS Stroke certification, required.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required.

Preferred:

  • BSN, preferred.
