Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CT Technologist to join our team at Atrium Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, operating CT scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency, and ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring and questioning orders to the Radiologist as necessary.
  • Properly identify patients and assist them while offering a brief explanation of the procedures, preparing patients for the procedure with a full explanation and documenting on appropriate worksheets.
  • Interview patients for a complete medical history, reviewing in-patients, ER, and outpatients EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical history, and recording medical history on requisitions.
  • Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist if needed, recognizing abnormal anatomy and processing any additional, reconstructed images, and/or measurements as instructed.
  • Perform basic patient care functions, informing appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition, and initiating life support measures for patients when necessary.
  • Perform CT scanning and assist Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures, practicing proper sterile technique in the preparation of necessary supplies, and performing all invasive procedures in accordance with bloodborne pathogens, isolation, and infection control policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • ARRT certification in Radiology, or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine, and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire.
  • Current CPR certification.
Physical Requirements

This position requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies, occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation, and frequent stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling in the daily operation of the CT department.
