Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Fabrication Welder is to ensure the timely availability of MIG/TIG welded components for subsequent production processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate various welding equipment including MIG, TIG, Pulse, and stick welders.
  • Set up and adjust welding fixtures as necessary.
  • Change welding consumables such as wire, tips, nozzles, and gases.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain the man cooler by regularly emptying water and replacing filters.
  • Utilize a pull tester to assess weld integrity as required.
  • Label welded products with operator tags that include item numbers before transferring them from the welding area.
  • Collaborate with vendors to manage welding supply inventory effectively.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and perform mainframe operations as needed.
  • Maintain and renew welding certifications as required.
  • Identify and address quality issues in the welding process.
  • Operate robotic welding equipment when necessary.
  • Be available to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications, safety policies, and procedural guidelines. They will work closely with the engineering team to assist in the development and processing of new engineered products. Additionally, collaboration with the quality department will be essential for conducting proof testing on quotes and specialized engineered products.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous welding experience and certification are preferred.
  • AWS Certification is highly desirable and must be maintained through continuous education.
  • Forklift operation experience is required.
  • Ability to safely lift, lower, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
