Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) 5W at Boston Medical Center. As a critical care nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team.
Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse in the IMCU 5W will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients. You will communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and their families, and coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the IMCU 5W, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and their families.
- Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records.
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization.
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
- Active or pending Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license or the ability to obtain one.
- 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain units.
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fluency in another language a plus.
