Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Chef to join our team at IHG Hotels & Resorts. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, presentation, and quality of food and beverage items for banquet functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement menu planning and development strategies to ensure high-quality food and beverage offerings for banquet functions.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned staff, including chefs, cooks, and other culinary personnel, to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and presentation.
  • Collaborate with sales, catering, and banquet staff to ensure seamless execution of banquet events and functions.
  • Conduct regular kitchen inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company standards for food quality and presentation.
  • Develop and maintain accurate recipes, menus, and inventory control procedures to minimize waste and optimize food costs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new menu concepts and recipes to enhance the culinary experience for our guests.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that all guests receive a high-quality dining experience.
Requirements
  • Advanced culinary training and a minimum of three years of experience as a chef, or equivalent combination of education and culinary/kitchen operations experience.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of culinary personnel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with sales, catering, and banquet staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, as well as local health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
