Position Overview:

The organization is in search of a Biomedical Equipment Technician to support their operations at a prominent facility dedicated to the maintenance of peritoneal dialysis machines and infusion pump devices. Ideal candidates should possess an Associate's degree or equivalent technical certification along with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, or a High School diploma/GED with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing electro-mechanical devices. Experience with medical devices is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all environmental, health, and safety protocols, as well as departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to workplace safety, striving for zero incidents.
  • Adhere to established Quality Management Systems, ensuring all documentation and maintenance records are meticulously completed.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to ensure a seamless flow of service operations, achieving optimal process outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough examinations, testing, repairs, and troubleshooting of medical devices using various diagnostic instruments such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Utilize technical expertise to analyze data, identify patterns, and determine root causes of device failures.
  • Produce clear and concise technical evaluation reports based on troubleshooting findings.
  • Participate in repair and testing tasks as required.
  • Conduct inspections as mandated by established procedures.
  • Provide training to colleagues as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow detailed work instructions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment while also working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and specialized company software.
  • Capable of independently identifying root causes of equipment failures.
  • Ability to conduct basic statistical analyses and interpret technical diagrams and drawings.
  • Skilled in writing clear reports that accurately reflect evaluation results.
  • Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
  • Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods, with frequent movement and manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to lift weights up to 30 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 41 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
