Job Summary:

The Material Handler will be responsible for operating forklift and hand cart equipment to move materials through Receiving, Manufacturing, and Shipping. You will work from production schedules to proactively plan required material movements and ensure safe transit of loads.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklift and hand cart equipment to move materials safely and efficiently.
  • Organize materials in a safe, orderly, and efficient manner in all areas of the plant and outside pallet dock.
  • Record inventory transactions in the ERP system, including issues, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Communicate and work directly with Lean Materials Specialists to determine material movement activities.
  • Participate in cross-training, task teams, and training activities to develop and maintain Lean Manufacturing processes.
  • Recognize material defects and stock levels, and report discrepancies per established processes.
  • Segregate and prepare required materials for shipment to satellite facilities.
  • Replenish lab stock and complete inventory transactions for lab stock requirements.
  • Participate in cycle counting and physical inventory.
  • Operate baler equipment and maintain baler room area, scrap, and recycle trailers.
  • Evaluate materials for required documentation, defects, and potential environmental hazards, and notify appropriate personnel of non-conformances.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training.
  • Forklift Certification.
