Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager - Night Operations is a key role within our Home Depot team, responsible for supporting the Store Manager in driving store sales and profitability. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with associates and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service Initiatives: Supervise associates in the selling effort, ensure in-stock position, and maintain a visually appealing and organized store appearance.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Identify and resolve stock deficiencies, supervise associates in selling behaviors, resolve customer issues and concerns, and support service needs for installed sales/special orders and product sales.
  • Associate Supervision: Interview, hire, motivate, coach, train, develop, and communicate with associates. Manage the performance management process, including semi-annual reviews and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Operations Management: Supervise front-end processes, including sales and return transactions, special services, and lot support. Oversee back-end processes, including receiving and freight teams, to ensure merchandise is received and stocked correctly. Maintain and operate all store equipment and systems, and manage daily financial operations.
  • Business Analysis and Merchandise Planning: Drive department profitability through sales trend analysis. Work with key partners, including Store Managers and Field Merchandising teams, to plan merchandise placement and signing. Support stock integrity through inventory management processes.
Requirements
  • Direct Manager/Direct Reports: Report to a Store Manager and assume accountability for supervising work activities of associates.
  • Travel Requirements: Overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
  • Physical Requirements: Most of the time spent sitting in a comfortable position, with frequent opportunity to move about. Rarely required to move or lift light articles.
  • Working Conditions: Located in a comfortable indoor area, with infrequent exposure to unpleasant conditions.

  • Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older, and legally permitted to work in the United States.
