Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Machinist to join our team at Northrop Grumman. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating various components and samples that meet design specifications, setting up and operating 3 and 5 Axis Milling Machines, and working from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate components and samples that meet design specifications
  • Set up and operate 3 and 5 Axis Milling Machines
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs
  • Work with limited guidance, in a team environment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 years of related machinist experience
  • Experience with machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders
  • Experience on 3 Axis CNC machines
  • Good fine motor skills
  • Willingness and capability to learn new tasks
  • Good communication skills to effectively interact with peers for training and workflow coordination
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience with 5 Axis CNC vertical machining centers
  • Active Secret DoD Security Clearance
  • Associates degree or Trade School certification
  • Experience with composite, honeycomb, and aluminum materials
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience
  • Experience with machines that are numerically controlled
  • Experience with Hurco Machining Centers
