We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to join our team as a per diem staff pharmacist at Brentwood Hospital. As a per diem staff pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely dispensing of medications to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Filling orders with precision and attention to detail
  • Conducting quality checks on technician-prepared products
  • Maintaining the security and integrity of the pharmacy and controlled substances
  • Entering orders and patient information with accuracy and efficiency
  • Aiding in the training of new staff members
  • Providing updates to the Director on daily pharmacy activities
  • Assisting the Director in maintaining the pharmacy's operations
Work Schedule

This per diem position will require working one weekend per month, as well as covering staff PTO and sick days as needed.

About the Facility

Brentwood Hospital is a 200-bed psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment facility that offers a range of services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Our hospital is committed to providing compassionate and innovative care to our patients.

About the Pharmacy

Our pharmacy utilizes centralized systems, including HCS, ePharmacy, and Omnicell automatic dispensing systems. The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm and weekends from 8am to 2pm.

Requirements
  • Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
  • Current Pharmacist license in good standing in Louisiana
  • Recent experience in a hospital setting preferred, but not required
  • Omnicell experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
  • Experience using computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Hospital Requirements
  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • HepB3 Series (or declination)
  • (Flu) Influenza - required for hire between October 1st and April 30th
  • COVID Vaccine
