Job Title: Qigong Classes Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Qigong Classes Instructor to join our team at the Cleveland VA Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Tai Chi/Qigong classes to veterans, promoting their physical and mental well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging Tai Chi/Qigong classes to groups of up to 15 individuals, adapting instruction to meet the needs of participants with varying abilities.
  • Empathize with and connect with participants, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Design and implement class protocols and syllabi, incorporating physical postures, breathwork, and meditation practices tailored to the needs of veterans.
  • Prepare, clean, and set up Tai Chi/Qigong settings and props to support scheduled events and activities.
  • Instruct participants in the safe use of Tai Chi/Qigong props and modifications of postures to ensure participant safety.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with veterans, particularly disabled veterans.
  • Ability to provide live virtual classes and in-person classes at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland, OH.
  • CPR certification.
  • Basic knowledge of Tai Chi/Qigong movements, philosophy, and practices.
  • Awareness of the connection between Tai Chi/Qigong and overall health and well-being.
  • Ability to tailor programs for specific populations and limitations.
  • ATCQGA-certified as Qigong and Tai Chi Instructor Level I or meet requirements for certification.
