Availability: Per diem as required for various shifts; 7 a.m. – 3 p.m., 3 p.m. – 11 p.m., 11 p.m. – 7 a.m.

We are in search of a compassionate caregiver for a young woman in her 30s who is facing significant health challenges and is currently bedbound. The ideal candidate will possess qualities such as patience, kindness, and a willingness to learn quickly. This role is particularly suitable for individuals pursuing a career in healthcare, such as pre-med or pre-PA students, who are looking for a meaningful gap year opportunity to support their educational goals while also gaining valuable experience.

Candidate Profile:

  • A degree in a health-related field is preferred.
  • Must be reliable, motivated, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and openness to feedback is essential.
  • Must maintain a calm and supportive home environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant health discipline.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required, with a willingness to participate in weekly testing.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver care in accordance with the established care plan.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, medication management, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry as needed.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to the client.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of the client's medical and personal information.

Compensation Details:

  • Training: Comprehensive training provided, lasting approximately 4 weeks, with compensation of $25/hour during this period.
  • Hourly Rate: $40/hour for full-time work.
  • Incentives: $5 increase in hourly wage every 3 months.
  • Payment Schedule: Biweekly direct deposit.

About ME/CFS:

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, commonly referred to as ME/CFS, is a complex neuroimmune condition that primarily impacts the central nervous system, metabolic processes, and immune function. Individuals suffering from ME/CFS may experience prolonged periods of bed rest, with no currently approved treatments available. This condition has been recognized as a significant health crisis, highlighting the urgent need for awareness and support.
