We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Administrator to join our team at SMS Data Products Group. As a key member of our Enterprise Network Applications Tools (ENAT) Team, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our Splunk installation, ensuring seamless integration with other systems and mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, manage, and implement Splunk across multiple enterprise networks and implementations.
- Provide expertise on Splunk implementations, recommending and supporting changes to Splunk deployments.
- Support Indexer Clustering, Search Head Clustering, and Forwarders, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and analyze overall health of Splunk infrastructure, including daily indexing volume, search volume, and performance.
- Develop, manage, and maintain documents supporting Splunk architecture and operational processes.
- Implement data on-boarding techniques, such as syslog, DB Connect, Universal Forwarder, HTTP Event Collector, and custom scripting.
- Utilize Linux skills, including patching, SSL toolset, capacity planning, routing protocols, and firewall rules.
- Design and implement report dashboard designs, automated custom email report notifications, and report log data repositories for various audiences.
- Minimum 3+ years of Splunk products experience.
- Splunk experience in a large-scale environment, overseeing daily, weekly, and monthly functions, and following best practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience in system integration and administration.
- Proficiency in scripting tools, such as Python, Bash, and SPL, with a firm understanding of REGEX.
- Experience with Windows OS, UNIX, or Linux-based systems, with a focus on mid-to-large data center environments and patch/update management.
- Advanced diagnostics, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with physical servers and virtualized environments, such as VMware vSpheres vCenter Server Appliance.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% of the year, dependent on contract needs and requirements.
- Technical degree, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Science, Engineering, or Math, or 2-4 years of relevant experience in Information Technology.
- One of the following DoD M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) CE, (ISC) Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), or GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC).
- One of the following Computing Environment/Operating System (CE/OS) certifications: Microsoft 365 Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS), LPIC-1, or Linux+.
- Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin certification within 45 days of starting on the contract.
Active DoD Secret clearance required or ability to complete investigation process for interim with potential to upgrade to Top Secret clearance preferred.
