Job Summary

The University of Oregon is seeking a highly skilled IT Auditor II to join our Office of Internal Audit team. As an IT Auditor II, you will play a critical role in assessing and enhancing the University's risk management, control, and governance practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead audits, investigations, and consulting engagements for the University in accordance with policies, procedures, and accepted auditing standards.
  • Effectively participate in all phases of assigned engagements, including planning, fieldwork, review, and reporting.
  • Develop and implement a flexible annual audit plan that prioritizes areas of highest risk and adapts to the University's risk landscape.
  • Collaborate with Information Services units to identify, audit, and collaborate on improvements that drive an overall reduced IT risk footprint for the university.
  • Represent the OIA on appropriate university committees and work groups, actively attending to identify risks and recommend controls.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of professional experience with 3 years in the auditing field, including 1 year in IT audit.
  • Understanding of information security standards, applicable laws and regulations, and best practices for security of computer systems.
  • Understanding of data analytics tools and multiple technology domains.
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve, develop client relationships, and apply personal ethics and sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience in IT auditing.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Advanced degree in a closely related field.
  • Certification directly related to internal auditing or IT audit (e.g., CIA, CISA, CISSP, CIA), or the ability to achieve certification within one year of hire.
