Job Summary

As a Boiler and Refrigeration Operator II, you will be responsible for the routine and non-routine operation of boiler and refrigeration equipment and systems. You will operate and maintain equipment and systems in compliance with established Company and PSM standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and promote safe work practices at all times.
  • Perform assigned duties and responsibilities in a safe and satisfactory manner.
  • Understand and comply with all known posted or generally accepted instructions, procedures, rules, practices, policies or other items covered in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform line checks, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance, including the lubrication and inspection of equipment to sustain equipment reliability.
  • Record data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature or pressure, water levels, and analysis of flue gases.
  • Perform troubleshooting of issues such as mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic to identify defects, identify the reason for the failure, determine root cause, and take corrective action to eliminate recurring failure.
  • Operate and maintain steam, condensate, and water conditioning systems.
  • Perform non-routine jobs assigned by Boiler and Refrigeration Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Team Leader, Team Leader Production, or Plant Management.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of two years education and related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write accurate information in English.
  • Ability to effectively present or listen to information in one-on-one and small group situations with all other employees of the organization in English.
