Job Title: IOP Counselor

Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IOP Counselor to join our team. As an IOP Counselor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for clients, providing case management services, and conducting individual, family, and group counseling sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare treatment plans in accordance with biopsychosocial assessments and ASAM criteria
  • Document all client contacts in the electronic medical records system
  • Present client cases to the multi-disciplinary team and obtain signatures on treatment plans and discharge summaries
  • Staff changes in clients' treatment goals and obtain signatures
  • Counsel individual clients and families regarding addictions issues
  • Facilitate group counseling sessions and prepare progress notes
  • Teach educational classes as assigned
  • Document clinical observations and behaviors of clients
  • Complete monthly peer reviews and attend staff meetings

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years direct service experience in substance abuse field; recovery experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard
  • ICAADA certification preferred or within 12 months of employment
  • Licensed Addiction Counselor certification preferred or within 12 months of hire

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a typical office environment; may require some weekend and evening work.

Travel:

Position may be required to attend court hearings or external training opportunities.
