Job Description

We are seeking a talented Manufacturing Optimization Specialist to join our team at Packaging Corporation of America. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical and operating support to departments, support groups, and hourly operations employees.

Your primary focus will be on optimizing processes and improving efficiency across various areas of our manufacturing operations. This will involve conducting technical and process studies, implementing new technologies, and training operators to ensure seamless transitions.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical, or paper science) and experience working in a manufacturing environment. A bachelor's degree is required, and co-op or internship experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and operating support to optimize processes and improve efficiency
  • Conduct technical and process studies to identify areas for improvement
  • Implement new technologies and train operators to ensure seamless transitions
  • Assignments may include completion of projects and development activities to prepare for operation and maintenance positions as vacancies occur
