We are seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to join our team in a production assembly role. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, and aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, and aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual operations.
- Support continuous improvement of products and processes by participating in the design, fabrication, and testing of new concepts and technology.
- Travel to other Boeing facilities as required.
- The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Requirements:
- Must have the ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Must have 1+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and schematics.
- Must have 1+ years of experience working with precision measuring tools.
- Must have 1+ years of experience with fabrication and/or assembly of mechanical or electrical systems utilizing production industry standards.
- Must have 1+ years of experience with machine shop processes.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities data needed for defining delivery configurations.
- Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements.
- Participates in the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology, and processes to ensure that conformance and production requirements are met.
- Demonstrates a commitment to the mission and motivation to combine the team's energy and expertise to achieve a common objective.
- Understands the dynamics of effective teamwork in order to attain higher levels of performance.
- Demonstrates ability to work as a member of a team.
- Knowledge of the properties of metal and other common materials.
- Complete knowledge of shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).
Education:
- Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).
- Education must be accredited.
Travel:
- Yes, 29 days or less at a time.
Work Hours:
- 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, potential overtime.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
