Job Title: Plant Cost Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Cost Accountant to join our finance team at our Memphis manufacturing plant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing financial and accounting support to executives and department heads, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide analysis and financial review of site manufacturing costs, focusing on variable and fixed cost of manufacture.
  • Support site management with financial reports and analysis, ensuring timely and accurate data.
  • Manage inventory, including raw materials, semi-finished, finished, stores, and sub-stores, to optimize costs and efficiency.
  • Analyze material costing and valuation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Contribute to annual budget development, ensuring alignment with business objectives and financial goals.
  • Prepare utility cost reports and trend analysis, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Perform month-end closing responsibilities, with a focus on process order review and closure, inventory adjustments, utility consumptions, and raw material receipts and consumptions.
  • Collaborate with the operations team and management to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Conduct routine audits and prepare audit support documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with the supply chain organization to manage freight and terminal costs.
  • Prepare governmental and industrial reports and surveys, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
  • Review and audit Stores cycle counts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of inventory data.
  • Assist in special projects for process improvements, leveraging your analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Support the Financial Planning & Analysis Team, providing financial insights and analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Maintain daily and monthly foreign exchange rates, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Process monthly intercompany commissions, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
  • Manage site fuel purchases and expense distribution, optimizing costs and efficiency.
  • Oversee precious metal purchases, movement, and losses, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Strong SAP experience is a must.
  • Accounting competency with demonstrated business acumen.
  • General knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
