We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) Lactation RN to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in Harbor City, California.

Job Summary

This role involves collaborating with education consultants and managers to develop, design, deliver, and evaluate education strategies and special projects/programs. The successful candidate will implement education programs and strategies, coordinate to meet regulatory program requirements, and develop, coordinate, and evaluate programs to meet organizational, departmental, and discipline-specific needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with education consultants and managers to develop education strategies and special projects/programs.
  • Implement education programs and strategies, and coordinate to meet regulatory program requirements.
  • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate programs to meet organizational, departmental, and discipline-specific needs.
  • Design, develop, and coordinate activities for continuing professional education for staff.
  • Communicate and market education programs to a broad target audience using appropriate methods.
  • Participate in classroom instruction on developed projects.
  • Make recommendations for cost/quality strategies, work within budget.
  • Serve as an expert resource to staff and departments in defining and meeting educational, clinical, quality, and cost outcomes and performance measures.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate/improve the orientation, cross-training, and education/competency processes/systems for clinical staff.
  • Respond to corporate and industry changes in clinical practice and professional education, and provide necessary training, education, and development to improve organizational performance.
  • Ensure compliance and documentation of organizational records based on regulatory agency standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (usually 4 years) in education required.
  • International Board Lactation Consultant Examiners Certificate within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience in breastfeeding education and postpartum and/or mother-baby.
  • Knowledge of Standards of Care pertinent to breastfeeding education.
  • Adult learning knowledge required.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
