Job Title: Senior Communicable Disease Investigator

Job Summary:

The Senior Communicable Disease Investigator is responsible for leading and conducting investigations into communicable diseases, identifying potential contacts, and referring them for appropriate services. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with medical personnel and other public officials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field investigations in various community settings to trace suspected communicable disease contacts using information from available sources.
  • Locate suspected contacts and persons infected with communicable diseases and refer them for appropriate services.
  • Interview persons with suspected and active communicable diseases to identify potential contacts, source of infection, and location of disease transmission.
  • Perform field visits to patients' places of residence to gather information and conduct interviews.
  • Collaborate with medical personnel and other public officials to ensure effective communicable disease control and prevention.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as epidemiology, public health, or health education.
  • Two years of full-time paid experience in communicable disease investigation, counseling, or health education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with medical personnel and other public officials.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of leadership, mentoring, and training.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the incumbent to perform field visits to patients' private residences and may involve working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
