Oportunidad

Este puesto desempeña un papel crucial como Ingeniero de Materiales dentro del equipo de ingeniería en la instalación de Huntsville. El ingeniero de materiales tiene la responsabilidad de optimizar los materiales y los procesos relacionados, así como el equipo, para asegurar que nuestra planta de manufactura se mantenga actualizada y eficiente, preservando así nuestra posición competitiva en el mercado. Se espera que desarrolle y aplique teorías avanzadas, métodos y técnicas de investigación en la resolución de problemas técnicos complejos relacionados con nuevas tecnologías. Analiza, evalúa y planifica métodos de abordaje para organizar soluciones a problemas técnicos intrincados.

Responsabilidades Específicas

  • Actuar como Ingeniero de Materiales en la instalación de Kohler-Huntsville.
  • Optimizar formulaciones y componentes de materiales para mejorar la seguridad, calidad, costos y plazos de entrega. Gestionar el proceso de cambio de formulaciones y materias primas, incluyendo evaluación, aprobación e implementación.
  • Mantener y mejorar, según sea necesario, las formulaciones de materiales y los procedimientos operativos para cumplir y superar los objetivos de seguridad, calidad, costos y producción.
  • Establecer metas para el departamento de manufactura SMC y colaborar con los equipos de manufactura e ingeniería para desarrollar e implementar planes de mejora específicos, especialmente en relación con el rendimiento de materiales y reducción de desperdicios.
  • Proporcionar soporte técnico a los equipos de producción en la resolución de problemas de procesos o productos, especialmente en lo que respecta a materiales y formulaciones.
  • Ofrecer apoyo en ingeniería de materiales y gestión de proyectos relacionados con la implementación de nuevos productos y procesos.
  • Iniciar, desarrollar e implementar proyectos de mejora continua en apoyo a las iniciativas y objetivos de manufactura de la planta.
  • Realizar estudios de viabilidad para asegurar que la implementación de mejoras propuestas cumpla con los objetivos de seguridad, calidad, demanda del mercado, costos competitivos y criterios financieros generales.
  • Participar y gestionar iniciativas de reducción de costos a través de eventos Kaizen, apoyo a proyectos de seis sigma y liderazgo en proyectos de ingeniería.
  • Continuamente liderar y enseñar las mejores prácticas para el manejo de materiales.
  • Entregar resultados adicionales según se asigne.
  • Capacitado en todos los SOP, LOP, políticas y procedimientos aplicables.

Habilidades/Requisitos

  • Título universitario en una disciplina de ingeniería de un programa acreditado por ABET. Se prefiere un título en Ingeniería Química, de Materiales o Ciencia de Materiales.
  • Cuatro o más años de experiencia laboral relevante.
  • Resultados previos que incluyan liderazgo técnico exitoso en un proyecto importante.
  • Experiencia con SMC y moldeo por compresión es un plus.
