Our Enterprise Operations & Technology teams are responsible for delivering technology solutions that support our business operations and customer experiences. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Applications Development Manager to lead our engineering teams and drive the delivery of complex projects.

Job Description

The Applications Development Manager will be responsible for leading a team of experienced engineers to implement new or revised application systems. This role requires strong technical leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage projects and teams effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, as well as experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day delivery work and set out a strategic architectural vision
  • Identify project/program delivery risks and work on risk mitigation
  • Filter, prioritize, and validate complex material from multiple sources
  • Employ skills and knowledge of the business to develop creative solutions
  • Work on complex and variable issues with significant potential impact
  • Consider budget implications and make strategic decisions to reduce Citi's risk exposure
Experience and Skills
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript/Angular
  • Experience with Spring / ORM framework, and database
  • Experience with Agile and all aspects of the SDLC, and DevOps processes
  • Self-starter with a passion for learning about new tools and technologies
  • Ability to work independently, with other team members, and across teams
  • Superb communication, great verbal and written skills, and ability to learn fast
  • Experience in working on multiple technologies and medium to complex systems
  • Confirmed experience of crafting and delivering successful complex solutions in an enterprise production environment
Education
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a Computer Science or related field
