About the Role

As a Physician Assistant Associate in Neurosurgery, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Work under the supervision of a licensed physician to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients.
  • Conduct daily patient rounds, gather medical history, and perform physical examinations.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses and establish treatment plans in collaboration with the treating physician and nursing staff.
  • Recognize and evaluate situations requiring immediate medical attention and respond in a timely manner.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests within the scope of practice.
  • Follow up with patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and medications.
  • Coordinate with supervising physicians regarding patient admissions and provide necessary information.
  • Formulate discharge plans and work with case management to ensure safe and timely discharge.
  • Complete hospital and department documentation accurately and within designated time frames.
  • Prescribe and dispense drugs and medical devices in accordance with regulations.
Requirements
  • Master's degree as a Physician Assistant.
  • AZ state Physician Assistant License.
  • NCCPA certification.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
  • Credentialed as an allied health professional with Chandler Regional Medical Center and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of advanced practice experience in neurosurgery.
