Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at Access Nursecare, Inc. in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in the comfort of patients' homes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct physical therapy services to patients in their homes, as directed by the Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.
  • Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
  • Direct and aid patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.
  • Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage, as prescribed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Observe and report to the Physical Therapist and Organization personnel the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's condition.
  • Instruct patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
  • Maintain necessary records, including clinical notes and conference notes, which will be incorporated into the patient's clinical record in prescribed time frames.
  • Participate in Organization Home Care Team Members meetings and Organization Inservice Education Program.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an Associate's degree in science or applied science that is approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Current certification or license as required by state law.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
