Advanced Practice Provider

We are seeking a skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Ochsner Health System.
This role will work in a collaborative model with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to care for emergency medicine patients across our hospital network.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The provider will be responsible for providing primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, teaching of residents and medical students, staff development and education, patient education and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the approved medical practices process in the delivery of patient care.
- Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served.
- Maintain an attitude of inquiry towards medical practices and patient care outcomes.
- Provide education experiences to patient families, staff, other health professionals, and to the community.
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and adapting explanation of services or procedures.
Requirements:
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of required job information.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols at a department and campus/system level.
- Reliable transportation as must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including 24/7, weekend, holiday, and on-call availability.
- Education: Master's degree in Nursing.
- Certifications: Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing.
Work Environment:
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity.
- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
