We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Boone County Fiscal Court. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for providing medical care to inmates in a county jail setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and screen inmates upon intake to ensure any medical concerns are properly treated and documented.
- Evaluate and address non-emergency medical complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Respond to emergency medical incidents and provide appropriate treatment to inmates as needed.
- Manage medication inventory and ensure proper administration and documentation.
- Collaborate with other medical staff to maintain a clean and safe medical environment.
- Document all inmate encounters accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with other medical staff, the clinical director, and deputy jailers to ensure all inmate medical concerns are addressed.
- Schedule appointments for inmates to see outside providers as needed.
- Follow established treatment plans and monitor patients' progress.
- Provide patient education and document in the medical record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must maintain a level of physical fitness to perform duties satisfactorily.
- Must pass a criminal, medical history, and employment background check.
- Must hold and maintain a Kentucky State Nursing License.
