Our Internship Program offers invaluable hands-on experience. Interns will collaborate closely with experienced project managers, engineers, and technicians, engaging in projects that challenge and enhance their critical thinking skills. We are currently seeking an intern for our Structural Services Division. Ideal candidates should have a keen interest in gaining practical engineering experience through immersive training. Our varied structural projects encompass the design and three-dimensional modeling of numerous structural systems, including but not limited to cast-in-place and precast concrete, structural steel, masonry, wood, and formed steel framing for various building types.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting fundamental calculations related to structural member capacity
  • Reviewing shop drawings and other construction-related submissions
  • Participating in project coordination meetings to gain insights into the design process
  • Making site visits to assess the progress of work in relation to construction drawings

Interns at raSmith receive comprehensive training and mentorship throughout their tenure, positioning them as highly valued candidates for full-time roles upon graduation.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of the Junior Year in a Bachelor of Science program in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to address basic structural engineering challenges with sound decision-making skills
  • Proficient in planning and accurately estimating the scope and complexity of tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
