The Cannabis Packaging Specialist is tasked with executing daily responsibilities within the Packaging division, ensuring efficient and precise operations to meet weekly targets for packaging dried cannabis products. The Packaging Specialist will report directly to the Lead and Supervisor of Packaging.

Key Responsibilities

Core Functions

  • Assist the Lead and Supervisor of Packaging in the proper packaging of dried cannabis products. Achieve daily and weekly goals as directed, including packaging pre-packaged and shelf-ready flower products, creating and packaging joints and blunts, verifying packaging accuracy, and supporting order fulfillment for product distribution.
  • Operate machinery and equipment for packaging processes as trained, ensuring safety and maintenance of all tools to promote longevity and optimal performance.
  • Consistently execute tasks to meet quality standards throughout all assignments.
  • Maintain organization and accurately report data entries in spreadsheets and logs as instructed, ensuring clarity and legibility in all documentation.
  • Achieve packaging goals to meet quotas as outlined by leadership, working efficiently to enhance productivity and meet daily expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include assisting other departments with supplementary tasks such as Post Harvest and Production duties, cleaning, and light maintenance throughout the facility.

Training and Development

  • Engage in training under the guidance of the Supervisors and Manager of Packaging at the designated facility, actively participating to uphold high standards of cultivation practices.
  • Participate in training aligned with PharmaCann's mission and leadership development initiatives.
  • Gain understanding of compliant operations within cultivation in accordance with state laws and regulations.

Workspace Maintenance

  • Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of work surfaces, tools, and equipment.
  • Contribute to the cleaning, sanitizing, and organization of the Processing department areas, ensuring a safe and well-maintained work environment.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for cleaning and organizing after using equipment or supplies.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Perform final packaging checks to ensure compliance of products leaving the facility, adhering to company protocols for accuracy.
  • Follow all state and federal compliance regulations diligently.
  • Report any compliance-related issues promptly to the supervisory team.
  • Maintain compliance and safety by adhering to instructed procedures, reporting any errors or safety concerns to the supervisory team.
  • Input data as required for compliance tracking.

Supervision

  • This position operates under the direct supervision of the Supervisors and Manager of Packaging.

Job Requirements

  • Availability to fulfill responsibilities as outlined in the job description.
  • Eligibility for the position in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while standing or sitting for extended periods.
  • Capability to navigate a typical office, manufacturing, and warehouse environment, which is fast-paced.
  • Adherence to proper personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements throughout scheduled shifts.
  • Physical ability to kneel, bend, reach, rotate, and stoop regularly.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Consistent attendance for all scheduled shifts, prepared for a full workweek with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Preferred experience of at least 3 months with the company.
  • One year of experience in a related industry or work environment is preferred.
  • Experience in a fast-paced production setting is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet productivity and performance standards consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail and professional demeanor in communication.
  • Proficiency in creating and modifying electronic documents; technical skills are preferred.

  • Knowledge of applicable employment laws is beneficial.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
